Pipestem Challenge Mountain Bike Race March 30, 2003

Pipestem Resort State Park, in Summers County, WV, will host the Pipestem Challenge Mountain Bike Race on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Approximately 200 racers are expected to compete.

This event is the first sanctioned "points" race of the 2003 WV Mountain Bike Association race series. Racers will compete not only for cash and prizes, but also for WV Mountain Bike Association race series "points", which will eventually determine the series champions.
Gene Wells, owner and operator of Fat Tire Cycle, in Buckhannon, WV, is the race promoter. Race registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2003 across from McKeever Lodge. The race begins at noon. Entry fee is $25.00 per racer for WV Mountain Bike Association members and $30.00 per racer for non-members.

All racers will receive a coupon for a meal discount at the Bluestone Dining Room in McKeever Lodge. Rooms at McKeever Lodge are still available for the race weekend at $59.00 per night plus tax for single or double occupancy. Vacation cottages and camping are also available.
